Mel Day & The Soul Survivors have always been huge fans of Hot Chocolate and when approached by a production company to perform an evening of numbers by Errol Brown and Hot Chocolate the band jumped at the chance.

The event was such a success that the band decided to carry on with the show calling themselves NOT CHOCOLATE featuring Mel as Errol Brown

Hot Chocolate, with Errol Brown as lead singer, released their first single 'LOVE IS LIFE' in 1970, which reached number 6 in the charts.

This was to be the start of a fifteen year career for the group who amassed a total of over 30 hits and became the only group in the UK to have a hit for fifteen consecutive years. Brown's bald headed charismatic image and unique voice being the central focus of the group along with a great song writing talent that saw him pen such pop classics as:

You sexy thing
You could have been a lady
Disco queen
Don’t stop it now
Heaven is in the back seat of my Cadillac
Emma
Brother Louise
It started with a kiss
So you win again
Love is life
Every ones a winner
No doubt about it
Girl Crazy
Are you getting enough Happiness?  (To name but a few!)

All these songs and more are covered by NOT CHOCOLATE performing them in the unique Hot Chocolate style a must for any Hot Chocolate or Seventies fan
